This small jar (soho) presents a rounded, globular body with a small mouth rim; the cover is no longer extant. A band of dot motifs is painted in underglaze blue around the mouth rim, and a simplified grass design is rendered on the shoulder; the intervening spaces are accented in underglaze copper-red (dongchae), creating a subtle interplay of blue and red against the white ground. The piece is presumed to have been produced at the Bunwon-ri kiln during the nineteenth century.
