This elegantly proportioned wine bottle presents a form of slender refinement: the mouth rim opens slightly above a long, gracefully elongated neck; the body expands in a gradual, continuous curve from the shoulder to achieve its fullest width at the lower body, before tapering once more to a composed, upright base. Dense bands of circular stamped motifs (원열문) are impressed in close repetition from the neck across the entire surface of the body, and two bands of chrysanthemum motifs articulate the lower body, rendered in the stamped (inhwa) technique. A thin, pale grayish-blue glaze is applied evenly across the entire surface, with a refined overall luster. The foot ring is broad, with traces of sand kiln supports on which the piece was fired. Among surviving examples from the height of the stamped Buncheong (inhwa buncheong) tradition in the mid-fifteenth century, wine bottles of so slender and shapely a form are remarkably rare.
